Complete strike observed in Gilgit

GILGIT, Oct 15: A complete shutter-down strike was observed here on Monday at the call of the Defence Council for Afghanistan and other religious groups to protest against the US-led attacks on Afghanistan and the arrival of US secretary of state.

Business and traffic remained paralyzed in Gilgit and Diamer districts. Some activists took out protest processions against the US air strikes on Afghanistan and educational activities in some colleges and schools also remained suspended.

In Diamer, business and traffic remained shut while and in Ghizer the strike was partial.
