Dadu Municipal employees stage demo

DADU, Dec 13: A large number of employees of Dadu Municipal Committee staged a demonstration in front of the office of the taluka Nazim Dadu on Thursday to protest against non-payment of their salaries for the last two months.

The protesters blocked the road for three hours due to which vehicular traffic remained suspended.

They were carrying placards and banners and raising slogans against the municipal administration.

Talking to the protesters, the leader of the employees union, Mr Husunuddin said that the employees including sanitation staff had boycotted their duties.

He threatened that if the administration did not pay salaries to the employees, they would disconnect water supply connection of the offices of the district and municipal administration.

The taluka Nazim Syed Zafar Ali Shah assured the protesters of getting salaries on Friday (today) on which they ended their strike.

CLASH: Four persons were injured in an armed clash between the people of Shahani clan in village Kai of taluka Sehwan Sharif on Thursday.

Mohabbat Shahani, Paryo, Photo and Tawakkal Shahani were seriously injured and admitted to Sehwan taluka hospital.

Naing Sharif police have registered two separate FIRs against 10 persons of both groups and arrested two of them.

CRUSHED TO DEATH: A boy, Sajid Khoso, five, was crushed to death under the wheels of a tractor when he was crossing a road with his father in village Mubarak Khoso of taluka Mehar on Thursday.

Mehar police on the complaint of Liaquat Khoso, father of the deceased, have impounded the tractor and arrested the tractor driver.

BODY FOUND: Sehwan police found the body of an unidentified 50-year old person lying in front of the shrine of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz on Thursday.

The police handed over the body to local Edhi centre and are investigating.
