PAT team meets Musharraf

ISLAMABAD, March 21: President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Thursday discussed the situation in the region and law and order situation in the country with the leadership of Pakistan Awami Tehrik.

The president briefed the leaders about the measures initiated for socioeconomic uplift of the people, economic development and political reforms.

Gen Musharraf said elections for the national and provincial assembles would be held in October.

PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, who led his party’s delegation, expressed support of his party for making Pakistan a democratic and modern Islamic state.—APP
