KHAIRPUR, April 18: The Nazims of three talukas Sobhodero, Faiz Ganj, and Nara have supported the referendum and launched a campaign for it.

The Nazims, who belong to PML (F), also took out pro-Musharraf rallies in their respective talukas.

The taluka Nazim of Kot Diji, Nawab Wassan, who belongs to the Awam Dost Panel, has distanced himself from the activities of the referendum.

He also did not attend a meeting of Nazims which was attended by Governor Sindh on Tuesday.

Meanwhile the vice president of the PML(Q), Sindh, Zafar Iqbal Bilal, has also started activities in support of the referendum. He told the reporters that a big rally would be taken out on April 28. The rally would commence from Luqman and end at Punj-gola chowk, he added.

SA group of rickshaw drivers staged a demonstration and a sit-in in front of the DPO house and A-section police station after three policemen tortured two rickshaw drivers, here on Tuesday night.

The protesters raised slogans against police.
