LAHORE, April 28: Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif have joined hands with Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to sabotage the process for restoration of democracy in the country.
This was alleged by Millat Party secretary-general Muham-mad Ali Durrani while speaking at a news conference here on Sunday.
The Indian government, through its intelligence agency RAW, was investing a huge money to sabotage the referendum and the forthcoming general elections by arranging processions and rallies.
Urging the people to reject this ‘alliance,’ Mr Durrani said his party was launching a campaign from May 15 to expose the plunderers of national wealth.
The party would bring out a fact-sheet after every 15 days to tell the people about the facts and figures along with evidences of corruption worth Rs460 billion done by the two parties, he added.
He demanded that the government should speed up the legislation promised at a Saarc forum a few days ago for bringing back the plunderers along with the plundered wealth from abroad.
Mr Durrani urged the religious forces not to side with the ‘plunderers’ of the past who had now become, what he said, a puppet in the hands of India.
Saying that both Ms Bhutto and Mr Sharif were exploiting the religious parties, he claimed that these leaders would never invite Qazi Husain Ahmad to their public meetings.
Terming the ARD’s reaction to the Supreme Court verdict on the referendum a contempt of court, he demanded the apex court take a suo motu notice of it.
He claimed that Ms Bhutto was sending messages to the government for a bargain even after the SC verdict. She was taking a tough stand on the issue in the public to blackmail the government to come to terms with her.
Party’s senior vice-president Malik Abdul Qayyum and information secretary Brig Muhammad Yusuf (retired) were also present at the news conference.
