ABBOTTABAD, May 5: The future of at least 350 students of the Government Girls College Nawansher, Abbottabad, appears bleak because of teachers’ shortage.

Although almost half of the academic session has already passed, sufficient teaching staff has not yet been deputed to the school, with parents left to wonder how to save the precious year of their children.

The University of Peshawar has already refused to accept the admission forms of the students on the grounds that no proper approval had been taken from the education department.

The principal of the college, in a bid to save students’ precious year, got them enrolled from Government Girls Degree College, Abbottabad.

As the first step, subject specialist teachers of Higher Secondary School, Nawansher, were posted at the institution to teach students.

However after their transfer to different schools by the provincial education department, the college faced shortage of teaching staff.

While the students kept visiting the college, they could not carry on their studies because of teachers’ shortage.

The students and their parents have expressed their concern over the cold neglect shown towards their college by the education department.

They have demanded of the Governor to take immediate action against those responsible for this state of affairs.
