KARACHI, Jan 1 Karachi-based Mahrukh Essa and Monisha Kotia claimed double crowns apiece as Sindh returned with four titles in the third National juniors` badminton championship which concluded at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad on Monday.

Displaying superior skills, Sindh`s defending champion Mahrukh inflicted a 21-16, 18-21, 22-20 defeat on Punjab`s Aqsa to retain the girls` under-19 singles title.

Later she teamed up with Monisha Kotia to notch up a straight 21-17, 21-15 victory over Aqsa and Khizra of Punjab to clinch the doubles title.

Monisha also shone in the girls` under-16 singles when she prevailed over Mehwish Zaman 21-15, 21-11 in an all-Sindh final to retain her title.

The duo of Monisha and Mehwish, however, went down in the under-16 doubles final to Punjab`s Anila and Khizra 16-21, 18-21.

Sindh`s fourth title came in the boys` under-19 singles when last year`s runner-up Ali Mehdi made amends handing NWFP`s Murad Ali a 21-17, 17-21, 21-18 defeat.
