RAWALPINDI, June 6: Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Abdul Qayum on Thursday acquitted an alleged murderer, as the two parties had arrived at a compromise.

According to an FIR registered by the Civil Line Police Station on October 10, the accused, Mohammad Farooq with the help of two accomplices killed a man named Naseer over a family dispute. The two co-accused had already been acquitted.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Mian Mohammad Shafi rejected an alleged drug-smuggler’s application for bail before arrest.

According to the FIR registered by the Airport Police Station, the accused, Raja Abrar, was scheduled for a flight to Manchester, England, on April 18, when 13kg of heroin was found in his luggage.

He was taken into custody after his application was rejected.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Azam Mian accepted the bail application of 51 men who had been arrested on charges of gambling.
