The main marquee has been erected at Pearl Garden for the reception of thousands of guests, while large portraits of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zadari were also displayed.

PPP sources said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Asif Ali Zardari will be attending the programme along with federal ministers, MNAs, provincial ministers, and MPAs. Security arrangements in the city were tightened due to the arrival of various party leaders from different parts of the country.

Sindh Chief Minister and President PPP Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has called upon the party office-bearers, members and workers to donate blood on this occasion as a sign of respect to the former PM.  In an appeal, he called upon all the workers to acknowledge the services of Benazir by giving maximum blood donations, which would be used for poor patients in hospitals. Blood donation camps have been set up in different parts of the province.
