SIALKOT, Aug 21 A group of Italian investors on Wednesday inked a MoU with Sialkot International Airport Limited (Sial) for ensuring major Italian investment in mega project of Sialkot Airport, which was recently established by the local business community on self-help basis.

Italian Investors group chief Mr Dot and Sial chairman Ghulam Mustafa Chaudhry signed the MoU during a special ceremony.

Mr. Dot announced plans for big investment in the mega project for providing the world class travelling and aviation facilities to the people.

SIAL chairman Ghulam Mustafa Chaudhry said that there was vast scope of foreign investment in the project as it provides full security to investment.

Later, the Sial`s senior vice chairman Dr Sarfraz Bashir told newsmen that the federal government had approved a special grant of Rs180 million from the Export Development Fund for the establishment of a cargo terminal at the airport.

He added that the Sial management had also decided to set up export-oriented industries around the airport in active collaboration with businessmen from China and Japan in Pakistan`s first ever `golden export triangle` comprising Sialkot, Gujrat and Gujranwala districts.
