Murtaza Bhutto murder case

KARACHI, Oct 11 Former superintendent of police, Clifton, Shakaib Qureshi, was charged with the murder of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, a brother of assassinated PPP chairperson and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, on Saturday.

Murtaza Bhutto, along with eight members of his own faction of PPP, was killed in a shootout with police near his Clifton residence on Sept 20, 1996.

The charge-sheet was submitted in the court of the additional district and sessions judge, east, Abdul Rahman Bhatti.

The court issued notices to prosecution witnesses as the accused pleaded not guilty.—APP
