HYDERABAD, Dec 24 The Asia Foundation has donated 1,900 books worth Rs5.2 million to the University of Sindh for Allama I.I.Kazi Library and teaching departments.

The Library organised an exhibition of the books of Asia Foundation on Wednesday with the Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui as its chief guest.

Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, deans of various faculties, heads of institutes and departments, Registrar Mohammad Saleh Rajar, Provost Boys Hostel Dr M. Siddique Kalhoro and a large number of students attended the ceremony.

The vice chancellor thanked the Asia Foundation for books and said that these would benefit students and teachers, both.

He lauded the Foundation`s assistance to universities and educational institutes with the hope that it would continue.

Chief Librarian Mohammad Azam Roonjho said that the donated books cover some 52 titles.

He said that the total number of books donated by it stood at 10,491 in various disciplines since January 1987.

VIVA VOCE Controller of Examinations, University of Sindh, has announced that viva voce of MA and MCom final students of postgraduate colleges (college side) under the Annual Examinations 2007 would be conducted from Jan 2, 2009 at their concerned colleges.

Candidates are advised to contact their colleges for viva voce examinations schedule.
