MINGORA, Dec 30 Three persons including a local leader of Awami National Party and army personnel were killed by unidentified armed men in different incidents here on Tuesday.It is learnt that a sniper fired at a security post on a hilltop in Charbagh resulting in death of naib subedar Tahir Jan.

In another incident some unidentified persons fired at a car here at Green Chowk killing a councillor, Malik Riaz Ahmad, who was also the general secretary of ANP in Kabal tehsil.

Local police believed that his murder was part of the target killings going on in the restive Swat valley during last couple of months. Till now scores of leaders of different political parties especially ANP have been killed in the valley. Local people said that a person was also killed in Wanai area of Matta thesil. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained.

Security officials said that they had demolished house of a suspect at Alam Gunj area of Khwazakhela, a stronghold of militants. They also claimed of arresting four suspects during a search operation in the area.

Some persons set on fire the residence of Colonel Sanaullah in Qumber locality of Mingora. No casualty was reported in the occurrence.

Meanwhile, militants kidnapped the brother of PPP-S district president Sher Shah Khan in Koza Banda area. The kidnapped person Haider Sher Khan was shifted to unknown location.

Similarly, a police constable, Fazal Anwer, was also kidnapped in Barikot area.

Curfew remained imposed in areas from Fizza Gut to Khwazakhela and Shakardara for the seventh consecutive day.

They have now been leaving the area in large number through unfrequented routes.Meanwhile, following the announcement by the militants that female could acquire education up to fourth grade some of the private schools have started arrangements to separate boys and girls sections.

These schools have also directed female teachers to observe complete veil so that militants should not be offended.
