HYDERABAD, Jan 12 A seminar for creating awareness among masses on HIV/AIDS vaccines was held at the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences on Monday.

Guest speaker Prof Dr Omer Bagasra, currently serving as Director, Centre for Biotechnology, Claflin University, South Carolina, US delivered a lecture on it.

He dwelt at length on research, prevention, symptoms, vaccines and treatment of HIV/AIDS. He said that leading a life in accordance with Islamic norms protects against this disease.

He called on holding such seminars more often for educating the community and loving and caring the infected people for the sake of humanity.

He answered in detail the queries of students, senior faculty members and public. He assured continued support of the Molecular Lab of the LUMHS.

Prof Azam Hussain Yousfani presented Ajrak and Sindhi cap to the guest. He appreciated the efforts of Prof Nazir Ahmed Memon and Prof Khalique Ahmed Shaikh for organising an informative and productive seminar.
