Published February 9, 2009

KHAIRPUR, Feb 8 A boy and girl committed suicide by taking pesticide in Kot Chandko village of the kutcha area on Saturday night because of their parents` refusal to allow them to get married.

Their relative Zameer Channa told this correspondent that Muzaffar Channa, 19, a matric student, and Najma Channa, 16, both relatives, wanted to get married but their parents did not agree because of some community problems. As a result, the couple become heart-broken and took pesticide, he said.

The relatives took the couple to Sobhodero rural health centre in a tractor trolley but they died before reaching there, Zameer said.

He said that Muzaffar was resident of Bhoombhatpur village and had come to Kot Chandko to attend a feast.—BoC
