CHITRAL, Feb 22 The supply of electricity to the city and its neighbouring villages was restored here on Sunday.
The power supply was restored after 15 days as the district had been cut off from the national grid due to snowfall in the area.
Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) officials said that the transmission line had been severed due to snow and avalanche on the Lowari Top and it was extremely difficult for the Wapda workers to restore the line immediately both from Chitral and Dir sides.
CHITRAL SCOUTS The two personnel of the Chitral Scouts, who were killed in Bajaur tribal region, were laid to rest here on Sunday.
Havaldar Sher Haider belonged to Ayun village while sepoy Shamsul Islam hailed from Mulkhow. Their bodies had been transported to Chitral by helicopter.
AIRPORT WOES Passengers arriving at the Chitral airport have complained about shortage of baggage trolleys, which was creating problems for the people.
They said that only 10 baggage trolleys were present at the airport to serve 50 passengers in each PIA flight.
