KARACHI, March 2 A two-day table tennis coaching and umpiring workshop for Physical Training Instructors (PTI) of government schools of Sindh and Balochistan begins here at the PSB Coaching Centre from Thursday.

To be conducted by national coach Arif Nakhuda and international umpire Saleem Ahmed, the workshop is being held under the aegis of Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF). It has been sponsored by provincial sports department.

The President of PTTF S.M. Sibtain said on Monday that the workshop is aimed at scouting talent in government schools across the country.

He said a similar workshop will be conducted at Lahore for PTIs of government schools of Punjab and NWFP later this month.

Sibtain disclosed that 60 `Sultana Sleek` tables sponsored by the Pakistan Sports Trust are being offered to 60 schools all over the country that have opted to adopt table tennis as major game.

The PTTF, he said, will provide boarding and lodging to the outstation participants at the PSB Coaching Centre hostel.
