LAHORE, March 5 Pakistan`s junior hockey team left for Malaysia on Thursday to take part in the four-nation junior hockey tournament to be played at Johor Bahru from March 11 to 15.

Pakistan will play two Test matches against Malaysia on March 7 and 8. India and Singapore are the other teams featuring in the event.

The team was met by President Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Qasim Zia and Secretary Asif Bajwa at the National Hockey Stadium before its departure.

Qasim informed that the junior team`s tour before the Junior World Cup was part of its preparation for the World Cup in June. “The players` fitness level is very good and hopefully the team will win these tournaments,” he said.

According to the schedule, Pakistan faces Singapore on March 11 while India play Malaysia the same day. The following day will see India taking on Singapore while Pakistan plays Malaysia. Pakistan on March 13 will face India while Malaysia take on Singapore. The position matches will be played after a day`s rest on March 15.
