ISLAMABAD Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has accused former president General Pervez Musharraf of betraying his party in the February 18 elections by defeating all the important ministers along with him to demonstrate his sincerity in holding so called `fair polls`.

PML-Q fared poorly in the 2008 polls by trailing at number three in the National Assembly, after PPP and PML-N.

He said a list was prepared of PML-Q ministers his (Shujaat`s) name was added in the last.

He said, he had asked Gen. Musharraf as to why his name was also included despite his persistence, the former president tried to rubbish it saying `it was done under some misunderstanding as American vice president was in the capital that day.`

Speaking in a private television channel interview on Monday evening, Hussain responding to a query as to whether he sees any political role for Musharraf as the latter was once again being encircled by media, Shujaat said, `In my opinion, he has no political role left to play in future politics of the country.`
