Published June 27, 2002

DADU, June 26: A large number of citizens along with activists of the PPP, PML (N), PPP (SB), STPP, Awami Tehrik, and JSQM took out a procession against the attitude of Hesco officials on Wednesday.

The protesters marched from the Hesco office to the Johi Press Club.

They were led by the president, Citizen Ittehad, Johi Taluka, Ghulam Qadir Rind, Hajan Brohi, and Mehboob Babar.

Speaking to the protesters, Ghulam Qadir Rind said that Hesco officials were suspending electricity supply for six to seven hours daily in the town without any plausible reason.

He complained that the electricity supply to a large number of villages had been disconnected.

He said on the directive of officials concerned consumers were being issued wrong and inflated bills.

He said that the citizens and villagers had complained to the authorities concerned against such irregularities but in vain.
