MINGORA, March 19 Following negotiations between a peace jirga and officials, security forces pulled out of buildings at Dehri and Kanjo Township here on Thursday.

Witnesses said that the security personnel vacated residences in the presence of members of the jirga including its head Inamur Rehman and Swat district coordination officer Khushal Khan. The personnel shifted to their camp at the Saidu Sharif Airport in Kanjo.

The forces had occupied the residences and other buildings in the region. After protest demonstrations by inhabitants, members of the jirga held negotiations with security officials and local administration on Wednesday. During talks the security personnel agreed to vacate the buildings and shift to their base. Meanwhile, the functioning of routine courts remained suspended for the third day while the qazi courts under Sharia continued to work in six areas of Swat - Babuzai, Matta, Kabal, Khwazakhela, Bahrain and Barikot. — Correspondent
