KARACHI, June 28: The provincial minister for health and population welfare, Ahsan Ahmad, paid a detailed visit to the country’s biggest and most-modern under-construction Burns Centre in the Jubilee Block of Civil Hospital, on Friday.

He was accompanied by the president of the Friends of Burns Centre, Abdullah Feroz; vice-president, Arjumand A. Qazi; social worker and artist, Jimmy Engineer; MS CHK, Dr Naushad A. Shaikh; AMS, Dr Kaleem Butt, in charge, Burns Ward, Prof Shaista Affendi; principal, Habib Public School, Iqbal Ahmad; PRO, Burns Centre, Muhammad Shadab Siddiqui and others.

He inspected different parts of the building, appreciated the quality of work and expressed hope that it would soon be opened for public service.

He directed the MS CHK, Dr Naushad A. Shaikh, to visit the centre daily with a view to maintain the standard of work.

The president of the Friends of Burns Centre, Abdullah Feroz, remarked that the project would be a glowing example of public- private partnership.

The minister also laid stress on establishing a library where books on latest research may be kept for the guidance of professors and doctors.—PPI
