THATTA, June 28: Abdul Qadir Ranto, a known political activist and journalist, has appealed philanthropists, donors and the government to help save life of his 18-year-old son, Manzoor Ali, who is suffering from plastic anaemia.

Producing a diagnose chart from a private hospital of Karachi, where the patient has been admitted, he told newsmen here on Friday that being a peasant by profession, he could not afford the expenses of his son’s treatment

According to doctors, the definitive treatment of the disease was bone marrow transplantation which cost Rs1,200,000, including charges of drugs, BMT, blood products, laboratory investigations, six-week hospital stay and consultation.

Budget: The Thatta District Council here on Friday approved Rs1481.918 million balanced budget for the year 2002- 2003 without imposing any new tax.
