UMERKOT, March 25 Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (F) Senator Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro has urged the chief justice of Pakistan to order registration of an FIR against former president Pervez Musharraf and try him for killing innocent people in Lal Mosque and Jamia Hafsa.

Speaking at a press conference at Madressah Anwarul Quran after attending a JUI-F workers` meeting here on Wednesday, he demanded an inquiry into May 12, 2008 killings, Karsaz carnage, assassination of Benazir Bhutto and an a recent incident of blasphemy in Umerkot.

Senator Soomro said that Sindh contributed 70 per cent of the country`s revenue but in return received only 12 per cent share.

He expressed dissatisfaction over the one-year performance of the Pakistan People`s Party-led government.

He said that they wanted eradication of crime and corruption and restoration of peace in the country.

He said that the Jamaat-i-Islami had boycotted last general elections at the behest of Nawaz Sharif and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal became non-functional due to Qazi Hussain Ahmed`s attitude.
