HYDERABAD, March 29 The All Pakistan Clerks Association has decided to observe a pen-down strike and hold rallies throughout the country in April, May and June to press for the acceptance of its demands.

This was said by APCA president Mohammad Afzal in a letter to the presidents and general secretaries of different chapters of the association in Sindh.

He said that the association had sent a charter of demands to the president and prime minister and other authorities on March 6 and requested for interview. Mr Afzal said that he had received no response from the authorities concerned and, therefore, it had been decided to observe pen-down strikes and hold rallies.

He issued a schedule of pen-down strikes to the provincial heads of the association.

Job tests The University of Sindh announced on Sunday that the government had assigned it the responsibility to conduct tests for recruitment of primary school teachers (PST), junior school teachers (JST) and high school teachers (HST).

The data of candidates provided by the district education officers had been put on the university`s website, which could be viewed at www.usindh.edu. pk/sutc, said the university handout. The director of the Sindh University Testing Centre that would conduct the tests advised the candidates to check their names on the website and contact the centre for correction in case they found any errors.
