HYDERABAD, March 31 DCO Aftab Ahmed Khatri said on Tuesday that a comprehensive beautification plan was being prepared to revive the lost glory of the city.
Speaking at a meeting about the beautification of Hyderabad at his office, the DCO directed taluka municipal officers concerned to prepare sub-plans and submit them within shortest possible.
He said that the district government had earmarked Rs33 million for beautification of the city but the scheme could be made successful only with the participation of other stakeholders of the city.
He said that in addition to the district government, the taluka municipal administrations, Cantonment Board, Sindh Regiment Centre, Railway, multinational organizations and builders were main stakeholders and could play a role in the beautification of the city.
The meeting selected Thandi Sarak, Auto Bhan Road, Airport Road, Makki Shah Road, Wadhu Wah and other main entry routes of the city for inclusion in the beautification plan.
It decided that the TMOs would be responsible for removing encroachments and building material from the roads and maintaining cleanliness in their areas.
Qasimabad TMO Syed Irshad Shah said that electric cable installed for street lighting of Wadhu Wah had been stolen hence the TMA was unable to restore the street lights.
He said that they were facing difficulties in removing encroachments from roads for want of police force required for it. The DCO directed the TMO to lodge an FIR about the cable theft.
