Razi appointed badminton coach

ISLAMABAD, April 1 Foreign-qualified coach Raziuddin Ahmed has been appointed as head coach of the Pakistan badminton squad for the 11th South Asian Games to be held in Dhaka next year.

The Secretary of Pakistan Badminton Federation, Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhri, has formally intimated Pakistan Sports Board about the appointment of Raziuddin Ahmed as Pakistan badminton coach.

Razi is a Level-II coach on the coaching panel of Badminton England. He is the only Pakistani to have been recognised as a qualified coach by the International Badminton Federation, European Badminton Union and Badminton England.

Commenting on his new assignment, Raziuddin said he would raise and groom a strong team which could win laurels for the country in the next year`s South Asian Games where India will be Pakistan`s closest rivals.—APP
