HYDERABAD, April 5 A large number of activists of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party and general public took out a procession on Sunday in protest against lawlessness, rise in incidents of theft and highway robbery in Qasimabad.
Led by STP leaders the protesters marched from Mehmood hospital to Naseem Nagar chowk where they held a sit-in for about 90 minutes.
The leaders said that Qasimabad was in the grip of lawlessness and thefts and highway robberies had become order of the day. People were neither safe on the roads nor in their homes.
They called for ridding Qasimabad of criminals and warned that if the criminals did not stop, STP would give a call for general strike and hold demonstrations.
They said that thousands of people had shifted to Qasimabad in search of peace but a handful of criminals had made their lives miserable. The STP could not remain a silent spectator, they said and appealed to people not to feel helpless and support the party in getting rid of criminals.
PROTECTION Custodian of Dargah Pir Gaaji Shah of Johi taluka, Piral Khsoo appealed to authorities on Sunday to provide him protection against his rivals.
He said at a news conference he was entitled to the income from the shrine for 18 days a moth. When he took over management of the shrine on March 13 he was attacked by his rivals but luckily he escaped unhurt, he said.
