DADU, April 6 Police on Monday lodged an FIR against district naib nazim and five employees of district council on charges of severing electricity and gas connections and damaging furniture of the office of Bahawalpur union council nazim.

Sikandar Qambrani, secretary to PPP-backed nazim of UC Bahawalpur Saeed Ahmed Jamali alleged in the FIR that District Naib Nazim Syed Hussain Shah, administrative officer to the district nazim, Ghulam Rasool Siyal and four employees of district council severed connections, broke furniture and beat him up in their attempt to occupy a bungalow allotted to the UC nazim.

Syed Hussain Shah held a meeting of Dadu Ittehad Panel and decided to move court against Jamali and police for registering the case. Mr Shah termed it political victimisation and said that earlier, official residence of the district nazim was also occupied by taluka nazim.
