HYDERABAD, April 16 A vocational centre for women has been established to bring to fore their cultural craft which remains restricted to rural areas only.
Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Imtiaz Alam Elahi and National Coordinator of the UNDP`s, SG Programme Masood Ahmed Lohar inaugurated the centre set up by an NGO, Trust for Rural Uplift, Culture and Environment ( (Truce) in Mohammad Ali Sangrasi village, Matiari district.
The aim of setting up the centre was to transform traditional handicrafts on modern lines for improving the socio-economic conditions of rural women.
CEO Truce, Aneeta Shah Lakhyari briefed the guests about its aims and objectives. `We want the world to acknowledge the skills of these women which is restricted to rural areas only,” she said.
