SIALKOT, April 17 The alleged accomplice and wife of the prime suspect of homicide in Daska`s Jhulki village on Thursday morning tried to deceive the police by staging a dacoity drama in her house.

However, later she admitted that she assisted her husband in fleeing after the incident.According to police, Tahira Bibi, the wife of suspect Zafar, alias Zafari, first concealed her jewellery and other valuables and informed the interrogators that unidentified assailants slaughtered 10 members of her family on offering resistance during a dacoity and they also took away her ornaments and valuables.

However, during further interrogation conducted by Daska ASP Asmatullah Junejo, she admitted that she facilitated her husband in fleeing after the incident. Later, she led the police to recover the blood-stained clothes of her husband which were concealed in fodder heap in the nearby cattle shed. The Satrah police also seized 35 cattle heads of suspect Zafar from his outhouse.

Meanwhile, the police registered FIR No. 176/2009 under Section 34, 302 and 449 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act against Zafar, his wife Tahira, their son Zaman and their unidentified accomplices for killing Javaid Iqbal, his wife Fehmida Bibi and their eight children with sharp-edged weapons while they were sleeping in their house on Thursday morning.

A policeman told reporters that they were conducting raids to arrest the prime suspect and they would be able to arrest him soon.

Meanwhile, qul for the victims were held in Jhulki village on Friday. Hundreds of people attended the prayers held in open fields. Later, grief-stricken villagers visited the graveyard to offer fateha for the victims. Moving scenes were also witnessed as a large number of mourners visited the graveyard as well as the victims` house on Friday. A heavy contingent of police remained present there to avert any untoward incident.
