LAHORE, April 17 Emerging player Waqas Zahid caused a major upset to enter the semi-finals of the All Pakistan Ranking Badminton Tournament in Sialkot on Friday.

Waqas (Railways) defeated the former national champion Umer Zeeshan in the quarter-finals.

Losing the first game against Umer by 16-21, Waqas came back into the match by winning the second game 22-20 and the third 21-18.

National champion Wajid Ali, Atif Bashir and Ahsan Qamar also entered the pre-final by winning their respective quarter-final matches.
