KOHAT, April 23 The security forces claimed to have killed eight militants and destroyed their ammunition depot during operation in different parts of Frontier Region of Kohat on Wednesday night.

The security forces said that they launched a major operation against militants in Jammu, Jawaki, and Bulai Khand areas of the Frontier Region. The helicopter gunships killed eight militants during shelling in the mountains of Darra Adamkhel.

The ground troops and the helicopters pounded a huge ammunition storage facility of militants in Bulai Khand area. On the other hand the spokesman for Darra Taliban claimed to have killed 35 security personnel in a clash in the Frontier Region of Kohat. The spokesman, Mohammad, told Dawn by telephone on Wednesday night that the government took their ceasefire decision as their weakness whereas they had announced unilateral ceasefire keeping in view the sufferings of the tribesmen.—Abdul Sami Paracha
