KHAIRPUR, April 23 An open-air theatre has been constructed in Khairpur which will be inaugurated, shortly. The theatre would facilitate residents of Nawabshah, Naushahro Feroze, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kandhkot and Kashmore districts of upper Sindh for stage dramas, seminars, literary and social programmes.

The construction of 33,900 square feet theatre began in May 2005 and finished in December last with a cost of Rs31.9 million. It has a seating capacity for over 1,000 people. Besides, 60x40 feet stage, it also houses a community hall, dressing rooms and other related facilities.
