QUETTA The Balochistan High Court on Tuesday asked government officials to justify their absence investigation into the murder of three Baloch leaders in Turbat, DawnNews reports.

The division bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Mehta Kelash Nath Kohli issued the notices when the concerned government officials failed to appear before it despite the court directives.

The show cause notices have been issued to Balochistan home secretary, the police chiefs of Panjgur and Turbat districts and Station House Officer (SHO) Police in Turbat city.

During the last hearing of the case on April 16 the court had ordered all the above officials to appear before it along with their respective reports about the incident.

The bench has now adjourned the hearing till May 20.

Quetta container case

Meanwhile, the same bench also ordered for suspension of Customs and Federal Investigation Agency officials posted at Pak-Afghan border in Chaman on the day when Afghan illegal immigrants` container crossed the border and entered into Pakistan.

The bench was hearing the case of Afghan illegal immigrants` container which entered into Pakistan via Chaman border on April 4 and reached Quetta. Forty-five immigrants had died in the container due to suffocation.

The bench also raised objection on handing over of the container survivors to Afghan authorities by Pakistani officials in violation of foreign act. The hearing was later adjourned till May 5.
