KOHAT, May 3 Three persons, including a father and his son, were killed and another was injured in two separate incidents on the jurisdiction of Cantt police station in the district.

Police said that the car of Musalli Khan and his sons -- Nasir Khan and Qasim Khan -- was ambushed near PAF petrol pump by unidentified armed men on Sunday morning.

They were going to Kohat bazaar from Chakarkot. Musalli Khan and one of his sons Nasir Khan were killed whereas his other son Qasim was injured in the attack. All victims belonged to Muhammadzai village. The murders managed to escape.

Similarly, a famous social worker Farooq Bangash alias Farooqui was killed when armed men opened fire on him near his house in Nasrat Khel area on the Hangu road on Saturday night. The deceased was going to his homer after offering Ishaa prayers when unidentified armed men opened fire on him from a Suzuki van. He succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital. The deceased remained a fugitive for over 20 years and was a blue eyed of ministers and high-ranking officials. After committing hundreds of kidnappings and dozens of murders, he surrendered to police and served a long term in prison. Later he became a social worker and organised Islahi Committee in his village, Nasrat Khel to provide help to less privileged people. He also provided funds for construction of mosques in the areas.
