LAHORE, May 11 President, Pakistan Hockey Federation Qasim Zia and chief selector Hasan Sardar have congratulated the Pakistan team for having reached the Asia Cup semi-finals.

“The team put up a good show by beating India in one of the most crucial matches of the tournament on Sunday and all the players and team management deserve praise for the achievement,” they said here on Monday.

They also expressed optimism that the team would exhibit similar zest in the semi-final too and win the title.

“Beating India always means that we performed well and we hope that the team would continue its winning streak.”

Meanwhile, former Olympians Khalid Bashir, Anjum Saeed, Akhlaq Ahmed, Shafqat Malik and President, Punjab Hockey Association Khwaja Zarrar Kalim have also hailed the Pakistan team for the deed.

They said that a good combination of senior and junior players in the team also helped them achieve the desirable result against India.—APP
