ISLAMABAD, July 5: Pakistan’s current ambassador to China, Riaz Khokhar, will take charge as Pakistan’s new foreign secretary later this month, sources told Dawn on Friday.

“Mr Khokhar will return from Beijing around end July and will then take over as foreign secretary,” said a senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Former foreign secretary Inam-ul-Haq was sworn in as the minister of state for foreign affairs in June.
