Strike in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR, May 29 A shutter-down strike was observed for over two hours here on Friday against cancellation of stops of many trains at the Khairpur railway station and non-availability of drinking water and other facilities at the station.

Hundreds of citizens took out a procession from Phool Bagh and marched on different roads of the city, on the call of Citizens' Alliance, Shehri Ittehad and labour organisations. The protestors were raising slogans against the railways chairman.—Correspondent
