SUKKUR, July 9: A meeting of the managing committee of the Sindh High Court Bar Association, Sukkur bench, was here on Tuesday.

The Bar Association, in a unanimously-passed resolution, rejected the proposed constitutional amendments announced by the government, as the amendments neglected the principles of natural justice and violated the fundamental rights of citizens, guaranteed under the Constitution.

The Bar said no individual or even the Supreme Court was authorized to amend the Constitution, except the elected parliament.

In another resolution, the Bar Association endorsed the resolution passed by the All Pakistan Lawyers Convention, held on July 6 at the Lahore High Court.

The High Court Bar Association will implement the decision in letter and spirit of the Pakistan Bar Council and the Supreme Court Bar Association.

The Bar appealed to lawyers of the country in general and of Sindh in particular to boycott the court work on July 15.

The president of the Bar, Gul Bahar Korai, presided over the meeting.
