KARACHI, June 8 Seventh seed Saif Noor Soomar on Monday joined second seeded Nasir Mushtaq in the men's singles last four after he accounted for Basit Gabol in straight sets of the Maroof Trophy tennis tournament at the Beach View Club.

Though Saif won straight but was given a tough time by his opponent before registering 6-3, 7-5 victory. He is now slated to meet Nasir in the semi-final on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the two quarter-finals between Nomi Qamer and Zaid Noor Soomar and Asadullah and Abbas Raza were in progress at the time of filing this piece. The winner of the two ties faces each other in the second semi-final.

Seher Khwaja, a former national hard court champion, meets Sara Ahmed in the ladies singles final also on Tuesday. The two topped the round robin competition held between four participants on pre-sets. The final will be of three-set.

The juniors' under-17 singles and boys under-15 singles have also reached the last four stage.
