KARACHI Top Pakistani players experienced slump in their Dunlop PSA Men's World Squash Rankings released on Thursday by the Professional Squash Association.

Top Pakistani squash player Aamir Atlas Khan slipped four places down to 19th in the world circuit while Farhan Mehboob, who occupied 16th spot last month, also fall two places. In spite of a fall in rankings — Farhan is now top-ranked Pakistani player in the rankings.

Moreover, Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) also failed to sent its players to international events abroad.

Experienced player Mansoor Zaman also fell eight places and is now ranked 43rd. The Lahore-based Yasir Butt slipped six places in the new rankings and now occupies 61st spot.

The Dubai-based Pakistani Khawaja Adil Maqbool fell from 66th to 70th spot while seasoned Shahid Zaman went down one place to 71.

Meanwhile, Karim Darwish maintained his grip on the world number one ranking and still heads a trio of fellow Egyptians in the top four of the rankings.

The 27-year-old from Cairo moves into his seventh month at the top of the world, ahead of Frenchman Gregory Gaultier who holds onto his career-best position of number two.

Ramy Ashour, the 21-year-old World Open champion from Cairo, is in third place - with former world number one and three-time world champion Amr Shabana at No4.—PPI
