LAHORE, July 11 The coach of the Pakistan junior hockey team, Khawaja Junaid, has suggested the federation not to make the player play for the junior side once he is elevated to the senior string.

In his managerial report on the junior World Cup which was recently held in Malaysia and Singapore with Pakistan taking the fifth spot, Junaid is of the view that this practice was used in the past but delivered nothing.

The coach handed over the report to PHF secretary Asif Bajwa on Saturday.

Junaid further said that the team management should be appointed on long-term basis, with clear targets.

He also suggested some ways on how to select junior players in future.

The PHF secretary said though Junaid had submitted various useful options, but it was up to the federation whether to implement it or not.

“We will have a discussion on the report and then will take a final decision,” he said.

Meanwhile, the PHF secretary said the executive board meeting would be held most probably in Karachi on July 18. All 14 members of the board were being invited to attend the meeting.
