THATTA A team headed by the US Consul for Economic Affairs Mary Elizabeth Maddan, the USAID Country Representative Christine Gottschalk and Asia Near East team leader Stephen Lennon pledged financial assistance for improving the condition of people living in Thatta.

The team made the commitment after visiting the Civil Hospital Thatta. They also met journalists, members of civil society and social welfare organisations at the residence of MPA Humera Alwani in Makli.

The delegation was moved by the poverty and lack of civic facilities to the masses in these areas and pledged of submitting reports to authorities concerned for grant of aid for health, education and poverty alleviation.

MPA Alwani said that the people of Thatta district were confronting poverty, hunger, lack of education, clean potable water, health facilities and education.
