GILGIT, Aug 28 A newly married couple, which tied the knot against the will of their parents, was arrested by Skardu police but a local court released them on bail.

According to police official, the couple had fled from Islamabad and took shelter with their relatives in Skardu. The father of the girl had registered a case against the man for allegedly kidnapping his daughter, and the Islamabad police had sent a party to arrest the couple.

Police said the couple was being taken to Islamabad but the additional district and session judge Skardu issued orders to stop the transportation of couple. Police offloaded the couple from the Islamabad-bound flight.

The couple was produced before the court and the judge heard the arguments of their lawyer and granted them bail but directed to appear before court in Islamabad after 20 days.
