KOHAT, Sept 11 Unidentified people blew up a pylon carrying high-tension power lines in the Nusrat Khel area of Kohat, suspending electricity to parts of the Kurram Agency on Friday.

Three time bombs had been planted at the pylon on the Hangu road carrying 66,000 volts power line to Kurram. One of the bombs exploded and police said the bomb disposal squad reached the scene soon after the blast and defused the remaining two bombs.

Meanwhile, decomposed bodies of two men were recovered in the jurisdiction of the Ustarzai police station on Friday.

One body was found in the mountains between Ustarzai and Lodhi Khel, which was buried by the Tehsil Municipal Administration since it was beyond recognition.

Another bullet-riddled body of 50-year-old Khadim Ali, a resident of Kachai, was found near the shrine of Mir Habib Aolia.

MILITANTS CAPTURED Two militants fleeing after attacking a police mobile in the Jarma area were captured near the Frontier Region of Kohat on Friday.

Two motorcyclists, Sahib Karan, resident of Dhoda Sharif in Kohat, and Zahid Khan, resident of Shnawarai, Hangu, were arrested when they trying to enter the tribal area.

The militants had opened fire on the police mobile near Mosam Khan Banda.

ARRESTED A gang leader of bandits was killed in an encounter with police in the Shahdi Khel area and 12 suspects were arrested on Friday.

Giving briefing in his office, District Police Officer Dilawar Khan Bangash said several police parties were conducting operation to arrest highway robbers and bandits since Thursday morning. He said police surrounded the outlaws and exchange of fire continued with them with short intervals.

He said notorious bandit Din Bad Shah alias Dino was killed in the exchange of fire near Nelao Kandao.

Police also seized weapons from the arrested suspects, which included two Kalashnikovs, four rifles, five shotguns, seven pistols and hundreds of cartridges.
