KARACHI, Sept 14 Maksons Sialkot Eagles and Rose Petal Lahore Lions reached the semi-finals of the 1st MCB Junior Hockey Super League at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) on Monday.

The first quarter-final between Sialkot and Bio Amla Abbottabad Rockies was won by the former 4-2.

Left-out M. Adnan scored a hat-trick (28th, 39th and 69th mins) and fullback Javed Riaz added another (30th min) for Sialkot.Abbottabad's two goals were scored by centre-forward Taimur Malik (35th min) and right-in Qasim (38th min).

M. Adnan was named Man of the Match and presented the prize by national selector Khalid Bashir.

In the other quarter-final, Lahore beat Maymar Quetta Leopards 3-2. Centre-forward Rizwan Khan scored twice for Lahore (fourth and 12th mins) and right-out Mohammad Bilal once (40th min).

Meanwhile, left-in Mehdi Abbas (30th min) and centre-forward M. Jamal Khan (47th min) scored for Quetta.

Lahore's Rizwan was named Man of the Match and presented the prize by Karachi Hockey Association President Mohammad Farooq Khan.

Earlier on Sunday evening, Rose Petal Lahore Lions beat Maymar Quetta Leopards 5-0 and Atlas Honda Faisalabad Bulls edged past CDGK Karachi Dolphins 2-1 in the last two league matches.

The goals in the first match that Lahore won 5-0 were scored by Shahryar (seventh min), Kashif Shah (22nd, 27th and 42nd mins) and Javed (39th min). Kashif Shah, the hat-trick scorer, was named the Man of the Match and presented the prize by International Jan Mohammad.

In the other match, Mohammad Sabir (fifth min), Mohammad Tausiq (19th and 62nd mins) and Ayub Ali (74th min) scored for the winners, Faisalabad, while Karachi's two goals were both scored by Zubair Ahmed (third and 73rd min). Mohammad Sabir was named Man of the Match and presented the prize by Olympian Iftikhar Syed.
