KARACHI, Sept 17 The final of the 1st MCB Junior Hockey Super League will be played between Rose Petal Lahore Lions and Atlas Honda Faisalabad Bulls after both outfits did away with their respective opponents in the semi-finals played at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) on Wednesday evening.

Lahore thrashed Maksons Sialkot Eagles 4-1. The goals for the winners were scored by captain and fullback Mohammad Aleem (37th and 69th mins), centre-half Kashif Shah (48th min) and left-out Mohammad Bilal (65th min). Sialkot's only goal was scored by left-in Dilbur (74th min).

Lahore's captain Mohammad Aleem was declared the Man of the Match and awarded the prize by MCB President Atif Bajwa.

The match was umpired by Kamran Shah and Takreem Iftikhar.

In the other semi-final, Faisalabad beat Bahria Town Islamabad Tigers 3-1.

Right-in Waqas Ahmad (15th min), centre-half Tauseeq (22nd min) and fullback Mohammad Rizwan (56th min) scored for Faisalabad while Islamabad's goal was scored by centre-half Imtiaz (28th min).

Faisalabad's goalkeeper Mazhar Abbas, who made around eight to nine brilliant saves during the match was declared the Man of the Match and presented the prize by Sindh's Minister for Sports Dr Mohammad Ali Shah. Secretary, Islamabad Hockey Association Fareed Awan also presented the losing team with a cash prize of Rs20,000.

The match was umpired by Ihsan-ul-Haq Babar and Chaudhary Munawar Hussain.

The final will be played at the same venue at 9.30pm on Friday. Acting Governor, Sindh, and Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro will be the chief guest on the occasion. The third-position match between Sialkot and Islamabad will be played at 5.00pm.
