ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 Waqas Malik created an upset, upstaging Tanveer Ashiq on the second day of the Sub-e-Nau National Clay Court Tennis Championship played at the PTF courts, on Wednesday.

Tanveer, put up some resistance against the young player in both sets however it was not enough and Waqas won the contest 6-3, 6-4.

Top seed Aqeel Khan moved into the next round after getting a walk over against Nouman-ul-Haq.

Other players who reached the next round include Jalil Khan, Yasir Khan, Rashid Mali, Hameedulhaq and Muneer Ashiq.

In the boys junior U-17, hard court championship Heera Ashiq defeated Saad Aijaz 6-1 and 6-1. Saadan-ul-Haq, Malik Abdul Rehman and Jibran-ul-Haq were also among others to qualify for next round.
