LADDAH Three soldiers were killed when militants fired a number of rockets on the Landi Noor camp in South Waziristan's Shakai valley on Friday.

The camp is located in the area of Ahmadzai Wazir tribesmen who recently pledged to abide by the agreement signed with the government in 2007. Sources said the rockets were fired from the adjoining Taliban-controlled Mehsud area.

According to other reports, 17 militants and non-combatants were killed and 10 others injured in air strikes and artillery shellings on suspected positions in the Mehsud area on Friday. The number of casualties could not be verified from independent sources.

There were also reports that militants had fired rockets on Scouts Camp in Razmak early in the morning.
